What the test looks for

Detection of activating mutations of the EGFR gene: exon 19 deletions and the exon 21 L858R mutation, the most frequent, as well as rare mutations in exons 18 to 21 (G719X, S768I, L861Q) and exon 20 insertions.

An activating mutation makes the patient eligible for treatment with an anti-EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor. On progression under treatment, the test looks for the T790M resistance mutation.

The report specifies each mutation tested, its status (detected or not detected) and the detection limit of the method.

Required sample

  • FFPE tumour block, or 10 unstained slides of 5 to 10 µm with one H&E slide.
  • Tumour cellularity of at least 20% recommended.
  • Pathology report enclosed.
